Position Summary:
A direct care staff provides direct care services to Youth and Adolescents enrolled in the Weekend Retreat Program to positively impact their lives through provision of treatment, teaching life skills, encouraging healthy peer interactions, and building coping skills.
Position Status: Full Time Hourly Non-Exempt Salary Range $39,520- $42,286 Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of qualifying Behavioral Health Experience or Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) qualified or Bachelors or Master's Degree In related field or Bachelors or Master's Degree in a non related field w/ 2 years of qualifying Behavioral Health Experience Must be at least 21 years of age Must have valid driver's license and be insurable in Arizona Must pass background criminal history, fingerprint check, and drug test Job Requirements & Duties: Ability to meet core competencies of a Behavioral Health Technician Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members, parent/guardians, case managers, and clients.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of redirection and de-escalation techniques.
Must have the organizational sense and focus to complete a vast array of tasks Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail.
Written Communication Competence Must be able to be formally trained in emergency safety response and have the capacity to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Must be versatile and able to work with all clients regardless age, gender, disability, and/or ethnicity.
Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills sufficient to navigate the unique group dynamics present § Safely provide transportation using agency vehicles.
Must adhere to HIPAA regulations and always maintain client confidentiality Must uphold RMBHS spirit of excellence in work with co-workers, clients, business partners, and in the community Must upkeep the following: Fingerprint clearance card CPR/First Aid certification Clear TB test Clear MVD Report Emergency safety response Fraud and Abuse, Driver Refresher, and Self-Administration of Medication trainings annually Must have adequate judgment to make clinically sound decisions and minimize client risk while participating in Wellness services.
Bilingual Preferred Experience with at risk youth preferred Provides direct care services in accordance with the treatment plan to include group and individual skills training, Life Skills Coaching, General supervision and oversight keeping a safe health environment May provide assessments and therapeutic counseling based on completion of competency requirements Plan and implement therapeutic activities for clients taking in to account budget, age, and gender.
Engage clients, encourage positive peer interactions and healthy socialization.
When necessary, the direct care staff must prompt for tasks of daily living and redirect inappropriate or challenging behaviors.
Accurately complete all documentation including but not limited to cash log, activity log, medication logs, transportation log, and client case notes.
Required to meet productivity expectations Maintain a clean RMBHS facility and vehicle, complete laundry, dishes, and rudimentary house cleaning.
Follows guidelines set for delivery of services according to program plan Work positively with peers and follow through with supervisor directives.
Uphold positive morale focusing on RMBHS' mission statement and be open to flexibility within the job role in order to meet our clients' needs.
Effectively supervise the self-administration of medication.
Ensuring that medications are kept within a locked box when medication is not being administered.
Provide all needed transportation for clients Work environment: RMBHS office and learning homes Client homes and community settings Vehicle Physical requirements: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, driving, bending, reaching, and grasping Several hours using a computer per week Lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds Able to drive safely, including 12 or 15 passenger vans Able to endure summer heat for outside outings § Able to implement non-violent physical emergency safety response tactics if a client presents a danger to self or others Able to visually observe client behavior Able to hear, understand, and interpret staff and client behavior Able to read, understand, and interpret written instructions Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
