Consideration is given to the patient's stage of development according to the life cycle.
The scope of practice includes diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case-finding, health teaching, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being.
•The Rapid Response Team Registered Nurse is a member of a Multidisciplinary Team and assumes responsibility to be the first responder when the Rapid Response Team (RRT) is called.
The goal is to improve patient outcomes by early intervention when patients show signs of medical deterioration; thus preventing cardiac or respiratory arrest.
The RRT RN provides clinical expertise, advanced assessment skills, supports and educates frontline staff , patient and patient's family, as well as facilitates a more timely transfer to a high level of care, if needed.
The RRT RN acts as a resource for the primary nurse by rounding on a select group of patients when not on RRT calls.QualificationsResponsibilities:Education Required •Must complete in-house orientation program •Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (BSN is preferred) •Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing) Experience And Skills •Speaks, reads and writes English •Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice •Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills •Computer proficiency •Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Critical Care RN.
License/Certifications •Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) •Certifications required for assigned area of practice: •BLS •PALS •ACLS •CCRN or CEN strongly preferred.
