Job Overview We are looking for a strong RF Communications Engineer with a background in systems engineering, experience in maritime technology, and the ability to be the technical point of contact for our communication programs. In this position, you will lead the development of communications systems, sub-system design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment.
\n ResponsibilitiesLead the development of RF communication frameworks, systems, sub-system design, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, high-level software and hardware system architecture design, concept of operations (CONOPS) development, and risk assessment.Consult with other disciplines to select wireless component locations for optimal performance.Downselect RF and communication products for project requirementsDefine work direction, track milestones, and demonstrate progress on large open-ended projects.Select and define device configurations, as well as data layer configuration.Lead trade studies to optimize system architecture.Support reviews of requests for proposals to support solution development and response.Work with product/component developers and vendors who provide critical functionality to the overall system. QualificationsBS in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on RF/Microwave engineering.Deep understanding of RF concept, impairments, and the resulting impacts.Experience with and understanding of satellite-communications standards.Experience working with product/component developers and vendors.Experience working with classified systems and red/black architectures for communicationsAbility to travel as needed.
