Summary
The Rigging Program Coordinator provides support for the Rigging, Material Handling and Lifting programs at Palo Verde Generating Station.
Reviews program processes and procedures against industry standards to identify and recommend corrections.
Primary responsibilities include, but is not limited to: station self-assessments, administrative procedure control, SWMS software module ownership, evaluations entered into the Corrective Action Program (CAR).

Minimum Requirements
High School/GED plus eight (8) years nuclear power plant experience (of which four years must be rigging experience) OR, Associate's degree plus six (6) years nuclear power plant experience (of which two years must be rigging experience) OR, Bachelors degree in Engineering or related science from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years nuclear plant experience.
Able to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant and qualify as a radiation worker.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Knowledge of industry standards related to rigging and material handling.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nuclear requirement:
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
These are conditions of employment at PVGS.

Major Accountabilities
1) Defines and shapes the stations material handling, rigging and lifting programs utilizing station input and industry best practices.
Completes rigging inspections, reviews contractor equipment and training.
Ensures discrepancies are resolved prior to work commencing.
Provides observations and coaching in the field.
Communicates federal, state and industry rules and practices for rigging and material handling.

2) Develops and maintains program procedures.
implementing and administrative procedures based on Palo Verde licensing documents, technical specifications, and the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) ensuring compliance to NRC regulatory guide 1.33 Quality Assurance Program Requirements.
Reviews and updates administrative procedures in support of station maintenance activities.
(Procedures include: 30DP-0MP13 - PVGS Rigging Control; 30DP-9MP11 - Field Use of Rigging; and 30DP-9MP17 - Material Handling).

3) Reviews all identified plant configuration changes for impacts to the rigging program and implements identified changes.

4) Reviews Condition Reports (CR) and performs assigned evaluations including, but not limited to:
a) reviewing applicable documentation and regulatory commitments, b) documenting findings and conclusions, c) developing corrective actions, d) assisting in determination of root causes and transportability, and e) evaluating effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.

5) Conducts rigging and material handling self-assessments.
Plans and directs assessment team, interviews personnel, communicates status to all levels of management, develops final reports and presents recommendations, assigns corrective actions and evaluates effectiveness of corrective actions.

6) Reviews and approves all rigging and material handling related purchase requests (PR), including service order PRs.
Reviews and approves new APN requests and purchases of material handling equipment.

7) Leads the site's rigging council to review, discuss and resolve concerns/issues, and to initiate program changes that will improve the safety and efficiency of the Rigging and Material handling programs at Palo Verde.

8) Provides support to the site Training department to ensure the training reinforces strong material handling, rigging and lifting fundamentals.

9) Screens rigging materials arriving at the station for quality and build requirements.

10) Researches new rigging and material products and replaces outdated equipment.
