The GLOW YMCA Riptide swim team is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach for our competitive swim season running from September to March. The Riptides strive to create a fun, welcoming, and competitive environment for both athletes and coaches. We are looking for someone to assist the Head Coach with communication with parents, to organize practices and meets, supervise and instruct team members at assigned practices and meets, motivate swimmers to reach their fullest potential, and actively pursue training, learning opportunities, and certifications as they relate to responsibilities. Additionally, the Assistant Coach will work with the Swim Team Parents Committee to develop and implement various fundraising activities as directed by the Program Coordinator/Director.

QUALIFICATIONS: At least 18 years old. Good organizational skills. Experience in competitive sport being hired to coach. Ability to work unsupervised. Ability to work as part of a team. Understanding of YMCA standards for the program. Ability to use computer and other technology. Completion of YMCA Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Harassment Trainings upon hire and annually thereafter. Maintain First Aid, CPR Certifications. Swim Team Coaches must hold and maintain Lifeguarding Certification. Swim Team Coaches must complete YMCA principles of Competitive Swimming. Swim Team Coaches must complete Red Cross Safety for Swim Coaches and safe sport swim edition within the first 30 days of employment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds associated with demonstrating and moving training equipment. Ability to adequately provide instruction and supervision for the designated program. Above average sport specific skills. Neat and clean appearance.
