leading locally owned, award-winning independent insurance Agency in the Southwest Florida region.

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Risk Placement Specialist to join our client's independent insurance agency located in Sarasota, Florida. As a Risk Placement Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and placing various commercial insurance coverages for clients. You will work closely with agents and underwriters to evaluate risks, negotiate terms, and secure the most suitable insurance solutions. This role requires exceptional analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment:

Job Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments by reviewing client information, understanding their operations, and identifying potential risks and exposures.
Market Analysis: Research and evaluate insurance markets to identify the most appropriate insurance carriers, products, and coverages that align with clients' needs and risk profiles.
Insurance Placement: Place insurance policies with various carriers by assisting Agents in preparing submissions, and presenting risks to underwriters.
Proposal Review: Review insurance proposals and endorsements to ensure accuracy, negotiate terms if necessary, and insure compliance with clients' requirements and industry regulations. Prepare written proposals for Agent use. Bind coverage with carriers as requested.
Risk Mitigation Strategies: Collaborate with Agents and Underwriters to develop risk management strategies and recommend appropriate loss control measures to minimize potential risks.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including policy files, client records, and reports, to ensure compliance with agency policies and carrier requirements.
Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and changes in insurance products, regulations, and guidelines to provide proactive risk management advice to clients.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance placement or account management within a similar role, preferably within a Florida independent insurance agency.
Strong knowledge of insurance products, coverages, carrier rating systems, and policy language across various lines of business.
Proficiency in using insurance agency management systems, specifically AMS 360 and other Microsoft Office programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to underwriters.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Active Florida Property and Casualty Insurance License. Preferably a 2-20, but will consider a 4-40 with willingness to obtain a 2-20 within a specified time period.
