Come join our team.Job Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) assumes the accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care for an assigned group of patients. The RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN's duties include, but not limited to the following: Directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical practice standards. Collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supporting the organization's vision, mission and values. Utilizing knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Participating in and accepting responsibility for functions delegated to the team.Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Participates in committees, performance improvement and goal development for the department. Investigates all injuries including review of the accident scene, interviewing witnesses and manager follow-up. Assures timely correction of safety issues and implements injury prevention strategies. Case management of all Workers Compensation claims with lost time or restricted duty to assure prompt care and return to work. Provides OSHA required follow-up for on-the-job exposures within the required time frame. Obtains consent and administers immunizations per protocol. Provides wellness and disease management education during client encounters. Administers communicable disease testing programs for Associates both pre- and post-exposure. Inspects work areas as needed for ergonomic evaluations and potential hazards. Maintains accurate, confidential and secure medical records. Provides Workers Compensation Coordinator prompt and accurate information to assist with claims management and proper OSHA documentation. Assists managers and staff in implementation of Human Resources policies such as FMLA, medical leave of absence and ADA job accommodation needs. Involves the HR Business Partner as needed. Participates in and seeks out educational programs and clinical experiences to increase professional competency and maintain a knowledge base of current professional practice standards of care. Performs any other related duties as appropriate.Qualifications: Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical and acute hospital experience with strong assessment skills and excellent independent decision making ability, required. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred. Demonstrated computer literacy to include Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred. Demonstrates the ability to use effective organization/prioritization problem solving, and decision making abilities in practice, preferred. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication, high quality customer service, and team building skills, preferred. Acts in a professional and respectful manner always, preferred. Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, preferred.
