Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab as a Cath Lab / Pre/Post-Op Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures, both before and after the procedure. The ideal candidate will have experience in cath lab or critical care nursing and possess strong clinical skills.
Responsibilities: Prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including obtaining consent, assessing vital signs, and starting IV lines. Assist cardiologists and other healthcare providers during cath lab procedures, providing support and monitoring patient status. Monitor patients' hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs during procedures, intervening as necessary to ensure patient safety. Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed, including conscious sedation as needed. Provide post-procedure care to patients in the recovery room, monitoring vital signs, assessing for complications, and managing pain. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. Educate patients and their families about the cath lab procedure, risks, benefits, and post-procedure care instructions. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities. Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum of one year of experience in cath lab or critical care nursing preferred. Certification in Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) or Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) preferred. BLS and ACLS certifications required. Strong assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
