TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Redding, California, 96001 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, every other weekend, first to float Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Valid RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred, COVID Vaccine, NIHSS Must-Have: Level II trauma experience or above, high volume and high acuity ER experience Job Description: - Nurses will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on the first day. This is a pass/fail test. - The unit consists of 28 beds, 4 fast-track, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds. - Nurse-patient ratio is 1:4. - The charting system used is Cerner. - Charge nurses are available but do not take patient assignments. - EMTs work as nurse aides, assisting per shift, with an additional midshift EMT. - Weekend requirement is every other weekend. - Holiday work is integrated into the permanent staff rotation. - Scrub color is navy. - Telemetry equipment is GE. - The facility has ventilators available. - A hospitalist and intensivist are available 24/7. - No IV team is present, but respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7. - Nurses are required for on-call duty up to one day per month. - Shift schedules are 12 hours; day shifts run 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; mid-shifts vary between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; night shifts vary from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. - Self-scheduling is encouraged, with efforts to accommodate travel nurses. - Candidates participate online specific orientation for 2-3 shifts. - Common patient diagnoses in the ER include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psychiatric cases. - Candidates must be experienced in promoting and supporting a teamwork environment within the ER. - The hospital may cancel up to three times per contract.
