Overview:
The RN Float System Wide assists with the coordination of care for patients of all ages. Working under close supervision, this role supports the documentation of patient data through the admission database and ongoing assessment. This role is required to serve patients across different departments as needed. The employee must have transportation in order to travel between hospital campuses.
Responsibilities:
Assists with assessing patient needs and helps develop appropriate care plans to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate and effective medical care and social work services in assigned department.
Provides social work services to patients and their families, including counseling and support to provide patients and their families with the emotional and social support they need to cope with their medical conditions.
Documents patient care and maintains accurate medical records to ensure that accurate and complete medical records are sustained.
Supports assigned department and healthcare professionals as needed to ensure that all members of the healthcare team are covered effectively and efficiently.
Handles recommendations of healthcare resources and options to provide patients and their families with the information they need to make informed decisions about their care and access available healthcare resources.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3 years as a Registered Nurse with 2 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Drivers license and Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state, Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) through American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
