Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatrics team in a Float capacity. As an RN Float in Pediatrics, you will provide nursing care to pediatric patients across various units within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in pediatric nursing, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively in diverse pediatric care settings.
Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients of all ages, from infants to adolescents, in various clinical settings, including general pediatrics, pediatric intensive care, pediatric oncology, and pediatric emergency department. Assess the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of pediatric patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and guidelines for pediatric patients. Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, intervening as needed to address any changes in patient status or complications. Educate patients and families about pediatric health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, providing support and guidance throughout the healthcare experience. Document all aspects of patient care accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Participate in pediatric patient rounds, interdisciplinary team meetings, and care conferences to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for pediatric patients. Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and organizational policies to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for pediatric patients and their families. Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with experience in pediatric nursing preferred. Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or willingness to obtain certification within six months of hire. Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care needs. Commitment to providing family-centered care and advocating for pediatric patients and their families.
