TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Chicago, Illinois, 60617 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7 AM to 7 PM / 7 PM to 7 AM Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Required to submit Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years ICU experience Job Description: - Complete a questionnaire and undergo a profile review by the clinical team before presentation. - Orientation occurs every 4th Tuesday of the month. - The unit comprises 8 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3. - Common diagnoses and types of patients include CHF, AMI, DM, Pneumonia, and COVID. - RNs are required to titrate drips, including Levo, Dopamine, and Insulin. - Presence of both Charge Nurse and House Supervisor. - Nurse aids available in this unit. - No in-house hospitalist or intensivist. - Respiratory Therapist (RT) is not available 24/7 in ICU. - The unit is equipped with vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc. - Telemetry is available with RNs responsible for reading strips. - Weekend and holiday shifts are required every other period. - Possibility of floating to the Telemetry unit. - Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs. - Unit-specific orientation for one shift, additional as needed. - No cancellation policy. - MEDITECH - Client/Server 5.66 charting system.
