TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Montgomery, Alabama, 36116 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Staff Float Pool ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 pm, 12-hour Nights, 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience; first-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience and Cerner or EPIC experience License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Ventilator care - Hemodynamic monitoring - Medication titration - Experience with various ICU equipment and protocols Job Description: - Provide critical care services for patients with varied conditions across multiple ICU units. - General Cardiac ICU: - Treat patients with STEMI, post-heart catheterization interventions, respiratory failure/ventilated care, post-cardiac arrest, post-stroke care, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and other critical care needs. - Utilize skills such as vent care, hemodynamic monitoring, medication titrations, arterial line management, and more. - Cardiovascular ICU: - Manage post-operative CABG, valve, thoracotomies, V-A and V-V ECMO patients, and more. - Skills include swan ganz catheters, arterial lines, hemodynamic monitoring, etc. - Medical ICU: - Care for patients with acute respiratory failure, acute renal failure, acute liver failure, DKA, sepsis, and septic shock. - Skilled in ART lines, trach care, vasopressor and sedation usage, and central lines. - Neuro ICU: - Handle cases of CVA, SAH, SDH, IPH, and seizures. - Proficient in trach care/maintenance, art lines, vent/ETT, EVD, and ICP monitoring. - Surgical ICU: - Work with post-surgical, trauma, vascular, multisystem trauma, and neuro trauma patients. - Skills required include trach care, art lines, chest tube management, wound care, and drip management. - Provide patient care with a ratio of 1:2. - Support includes charge nurse per shift, phlebotomy services, and IV/VAT team. - Utilize technology and equipment including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors. - Floating to similar units/tasks as required. - Complete 24 hours of classroom orientation and 24 hours on-unit orientation for new or returning staff (if absent for over a year). - Scheduling: - Weekend rotation every other weekend.
