TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Job Specialty: ICU Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Guaranteed Hours: 48 Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required (excluding travel experience) License: Registered Nurse (RN) - Approved by a state board of nursing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (required) Must-Have: Epic experience Job Description: - Work in a mixed unit with 39 beds including MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU. - Manage complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. - Handle diagnoses like ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-cardiac cath, post-surgical, and multiple system trauma. - Patient ratios will vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity. - Experience with cardiac patients preferred but not required, especially CABG/TAVR post-op care. - Strong skills in IV medications, hemodynamic lines, ventilation management, telemetry, critical thinking, and teamwork. - Work in a fast-paced setting with critically ill patients. - Should be comfortable with 48-hour work weeks. - Required to float to ED if ICU RN qualified, and to ICU if PCU RN qualified. - Support available with 1-2 Nurse Aides per unit, charge nurses, and 24/7 respiratory therapy. - Use Epic charting system and Alaris and Omnicell equipment. - Minimal floating unless overstaffed, potential to float to adult floors such as Medsurg/Tele. - Orientation includes a hospital session and two shifts in the ICU. - Participate in weekend rotations and meet holiday expectations. - No request for time off during certain high-demand periods. 26089930EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA PALS - AHA Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Advocating for patients from diverse backgrounds and with different healthcare needs refines your patient advocacy skills, making you a more effective advocate in various healthcare settings.
