Job Description - RN ICU Nights (******** ) Southern Tennessee Regional Health System has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care team.
10k sign-on bonus is available for well qualified applicants! A Joint Commission accredited hospital, Southern Tennessee Regional Health System serves the patients of south-central Tennessee with two locations (Winchester and Sewanee).
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Monitor and note condition of the patient closely and keep physicians informed.Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.Document patient care given.Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.Perform other duties as assigned.May be required to perform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff on occasion.Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-service, projects, and committees as assigned.Adhere to and support policies and procedures of the STRHS.Work scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.Accept all call schedule as directed.Maintain a neat and professional appearance in compliance with the existing dress code.Reports to the Director of ICU.
QualificationsAssociate's degree is required.
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.Licenses: Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee or compact license with the required forms filed with the State of Tennessee within 30 days.
