The Position Kaufman, Hall & Associates, LLC, is looking for someone focused on bringing clinical, business, and industry knowledge together into cohesive and effective training content. This individual will work with senior Education Services team members to engage in ongoing review of our existing clinical content, develop or revise content with input from subject matter experts throughout the firm, and develop digital and traditional print content for emerging client opportunities and needs. This role will be primarily remote with occasional travel to the Chicago office if needed. Qualified applicants would be expected to be available to work during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Standard Time. Oversight of this role will be provided by the Assistant Vice President of Education Services. Examples of tasks that this position is responsible for include: Assist with the development and execution of a comprehensive content development, management, and delivery plan Development of eLearning courses using approved content in accordance with internal style guidelines Troubleshoot Articulate Storyline 360 templates as well as custom templates during the development process Provide overall course design input during the development process Transfer of existing eLearning content to new Articulate Storyline 360 course templates Creation of supplemental instructional materials such as student and facilitator guides as well as simulated job aids Design and author new content. Examples include: Author monthly/quarterly articles, case challenge modules, whitepapers, and resources Update and maintain our core curriculum—both ad hoc and in response to quarterly/annual industry changes Incorporate updates from industry organizations (such as Coding Clinic, AHIMA, etc.) into our curriculum Work with subject matter experts to author and expand the educational content contained within the curriculum Create physician/provider education and training Assist with clinical content development, gather requirements, and create materials based on identified opportunities. Examples include: Assist with the creation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual inpatient prospective payment system and code update webinars Assist with the creation of various ad hoc webinars Work with Clinical/Coding teams to ensure materials reflect current industry standards and client needs Coordinate with technology experts to deliver clinical resources through our software tools Collaborate with highly experienced senior colleagues Communicate effectively and efficiently with all associates and business contacts and promote a strong sense of teamwork Perform the following duties of a nurse planner for accreditation of learning activities: Assess professional practice gaps, identify needs that can be addressed through education, create a planning committee, develop a program(s) based on best available evidence, implement it, and evaluate it Identify and resolve conflicts of interest, maintain content integrity, and promote learning and actively engage learners Create outcomes related to activities, measure change in knowledge, skill, and/or practice at the time of the program and long term (for some activities) Use summative evaluation data to guide future activities Participate in the evaluation process for the provider unit Participate in the evaluation process for nursing professional development Function as a content expert as appropriate Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing or clinical care. You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team. You will also be expected to exhibit sound judgment while solving problems, prioritize and demonstrate attention to detail in your work, and be flexible when new information is introduced into the client or team situation. In addition to years of proven clinical and professional expertise, highly polished written and verbal communication skills are essential to this role. Preferred qualifications include 2-5 years of experience developing clinical content/continuing education for nurses, coders, and/or physicians for healthcare industry topics 2+ years of experience in a clinical role in the healthcare industry (RN, NP, MD, etc.) Exposure to principles of adult learning Strong preference for experience with the Articulate software course authoring tool Experience using accepted educational methods and approaches in education or content development and design Demonstrated experience in professional writing and/or editing Ability to adhere to rigorous timelines for development Excellent conceptual skills, organizational skills, and critical thinking ability Ability to successfully take complex projects from start to finish Self-learner with a strong desire to acquire new skills, understand industry developments, and approach problems with an inquisitive mind Experience with the Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Publisher, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) Preferred experience with projects that have involved subject matter experts (SMEs) Applicants for employment must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Kaufman Hall (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status) Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred Current or previous RN licensure required Physical Requirements Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing and typing.
