TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Bangor, Maine, 04401 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit Job Specialty: Med/Surg TELE Job Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: 7A-7P, 12-Day Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week Experience: Minimum 1 year required, additional experience preferred License: Active RN license Certifications: - BLS - NIHSS (preferred) - EKG interpretation/ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: - Previous charge experience is highly preferred - Proficiency in reading and interpreting rhythm strips - General medical surgical skills Job Description: - Monitor patients on Telemetry (Med-Tele) - Manage a variety of medical diagnoses, including stroke, COPD, respiratory issues, flu, COVID-19, GI bleed, renal failure, electrolyte imbalance, and more - Work in a non-surgical unit with RN patient ratios of Days 1:4-5; Nights 1:5-6, adjusted based on patient acuity and support - Handle cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone, along with insulin and heparin drips - Perform trach care, chest tube management, wound care, IV antibiotic administration, drain/tube management, IV starts, central line management, etc. - Collaborate with CNAs to ensure patient care, including obtaining vital signs, bathing, ambulation, and functional status progression - Engage in teamwork and communication within the unit - Participate in a 2-day hospital orientation followed by one shift on the unit - Rotate weekends, every other weekend, with no on-call requirements - Adhere to professional dress code standards, wearing any color scrubs except those with holes, avoiding artificial nails, and personal phone use only during breaks - Utilize Cerner charting systems, Alaris, and Pyxis equipment - May float as needed to areas with Med/Tele patients within or below the scope of practice - Work alongside a robust support team, including a charge nurse, phlebotomy for peripheral blood draws, 24/7 RT, PT/OT/ST on dayshift, and a unit resource RN as staffing allows 26266162EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Core Competency Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Different regions may incorporate alternative medicine practices into healthcare.
