If they work 36 hours they will be paid 36 hours.
If they leave early or take a day off they will not be paid for time not worked.


JOB SUMMARY

Providesdirect and indirect patient care in the emergency, acute care, outpatient, and swingbed care setting.
Provides care thatreflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professionalexpectation with a minimum of supervision.
Is able to triage patients safely, rapidly and accurately, when theyenter the emergency care department.
Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs,as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
Communicates with the attending provider aboutchanges in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies.
Is able to respond quickly and accurately tochanges in condition or response to treatment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
•Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes,consults with other staff as required and adjusts nursing care processes asindicated to ensure optimal patient care.

•Completes orientation packet and checklist as assigned.

•Cross trains to learn the use of any new equipment.

•Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on allpatients and reassessments as per policy.
This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and thegeneral patient population.

•Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriatecare to patients.
Accurately assignstriage categories.

•Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain.
Utilizes appropriate pain managementtechniques.
Educates the patient andfamily regarding pain management.
Documents pain assessments and re-assessment consistently in theelectronic health record (EHR).

•Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient andcorrectly interpret results.

•Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring identifiesdysrhythmias and treats appropriately.

•Ability to perform waived testing (point-of-caretesting) per Clinical Laboratorys and the patient care units policies andprocedures.

•Ability to interpret the results of waived tests; takesappropriate action on waived test results.

•Maintains current knowledge of medications and theircorrect administration based on age of the patient and his/her clinicalcondition.

•Follows the seven (7) medication rights and reduces thepotential for medication errors.

•Prepares, hangs, monitors and discontinues IV fluidswith aseptic technique
•Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentationincluding patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessmentof changes.

•Performs all aspects of patient care in an environmentthat optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health careerrors.

•Follows Provider orders from the electronic medicalrecord consistently.

•Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.

•Treats patients and their families with respect anddignity.
Identifies and addressespsychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients andfamily.
Functions as liaison betweenadministration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.

•Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth anddevelopment over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriatecare to the patients served.
Able tointerpret data about the patients status in order to identify each patientsage specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.

•Interacts professionally with patient and family andinvolves patient and family in the formation of the plan of care.

•Perform related duties as assigned by management.


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•Checkshospital email and Qliq account throughout the work day.

•Completes all mandatory education within giventimeframe.

•Maintainsregulatory requirements.

•Reportsto work on time and as scheduled.

•Wearsidentification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.

•Representsthe organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.

•Attendsannual review and department in-services as scheduled.

•Attendsat least 75% of staff meetings; reviews all monthly staff meeting minutes.

•Activelyparticipates in the departments quality improvement (QI) activities.

•Complieswith all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices and the employeehandbook.

•Communicatesthe mission, vision and values of the organization as well as the focus of thedepartment.

•Meetsdress code standards for the department; appearance is neat and clean.

•AllFerry County Health employees are required to maintain confidentiality inaccordance with organizational policy, state and federal regulations, includingnot but limited to, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA).


JOBKNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS Educationand/or Work Experience Requirements
•Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

•Current RN license within the state of practice.

•Current AHA BLS Certification.

•AHA ACLS Certified within six (6) months of hire.

•TNCC within six (6) months of hire
•NRP within 1 year of hire.

•AHA PALS within six (6) months of hire.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general businessperiodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmentalregulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals.
