Responsibilities:Are you ready to challenge the expected to deliver the extraordinary?The Operating Room Nurse delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The circulating nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs as well ensuring the safety of the patient. The RN works by collaborating with other members of the team including the anesthesiologist, surgeon, surgical technologist, and other personnel.The Journeys and Adventures that AwaitAdheres to the Center's policies and procedures and the Professional Standards of Nursing PracticeDelivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical procedures.Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.Monitors vital signs during the procedure, and documents on the OR record.Transports patient to the PACU post procedure.Comprehends function of equipment, can troubleshoot when needed.Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.Maintains and monitors the sterile environment. Assists with room turnovers including cleaning and mopping in preparation for subsequent procedures.May participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.Competent to function efficiently in multiple services.Complies with all Ambulatory Surgery Center policies/procedures, AORN, IDPH, CMS and other regulatory agencies' standards and guidelines.Qualifications:The Experiences You BringCurrent Illinois Nursing license requiredSeeking a minimum of one year Operating Room experienceACLS Certification requiredCurrent BCLS Certification maintainedCNOR- Certified Nurse Operating Room preferredExcellent interpersonal skillsAble to work in a fast pace environmentINDHP
