Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Operating Room (OR) Nurse is the safety and care of the patient undergoing operative and invasive procedures, in accordance with Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) standards and the rules and regulations governing our Facility.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities Direct team activities in the OR Assure proper communication in OR among staff and surgeons Develop perioperative nursing care plan, through assessment of patient care needs.
Demonstrates understanding of the hospitals mission and values and their impact on nursing practices.
Demonstrate consistent alignment with our behavior standards.
Collaborates with other care staff to assure smooth transition for patient throughout facility using proper hand off techniques.
Assures safe quality patient outcomes through evidence based nursing practice.
Models fiscal responsibility by cost effective use of resources consistent with hospital and system goals.
Work within unit to maintain productivity standards.
Other duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
Required Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one (1) year of hire.
Demonstrated understanding of Nursing Practice standards
Previous experience in operating room
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR)
