Registered Nurse (RN) – OR General

The Department of General and Specialized Surgery evaluates and treats common and complex conditions affecting the abdomen, gastrointestinal system, and breasts. Our experienced caregivers are skilled in minimally invasive methods, including robotic-assisted surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
A caregiver in this position works 6:30am – 6:30pm with on-call requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience.
Must live within a 30 minute call radius
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
ACLS
Current/prior OR experience
Willing to consider candidates with surgery center or procedural experience such as IR, Special Procedures, Endo, Pre/Post Op
