TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Progressive Care (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00 Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS and BLS Must-Have: - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience Job Description: - Primary patient population includes cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, such as open heart surgery and thoracic lung surgery. - Managing patients with conditions like heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block. - Work in a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit with a team of approximately 100 staff members. - Day Shift includes 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 1.33 HUCs; Night Shift includes 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 0.33 HUCs. - Patient Ratios: 1 RN for every 5 patients and 1 PCT for every 13 patients. - Utilize Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, various lifts, and EMR Cerner. - Perform typical procedures such as epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, and cardiac gtt management. - Work in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and teamwork. - Floating areas include any SD unit (1:5 ratios), MS unit (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6 ratios). - Dress Code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white. - Weekend requirements: Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period. - Flexible to work holidays.
