TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Wilmington, North Carolina, 28401 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Cardiac Telemetry Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. May consider candidates with 1.5 years of CVICU experience in a large facility. License: NC or Compact license required. Pending licenses are acceptable at submission but must be in hand at the time of start. Certifications: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown - Skills in sheath removal, dysrhythmias interpretation, post-MI care, pre/post cardiac cath management - Experience managing cardiac drips, chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, and non-invasive airway management Job Description: - Work in a cardiac telemetry unit with varying patient ratios depending on acuity. Ratios range from 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity. - Expect to float within the unit based on rotation. - Work four weekends in a four-week period, with some flexibility. - Participate as needed in a Storm or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters. - Care for patients with diagnoses such as atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and other cardiac-related conditions. - Participate in the care of patients undergoing procedures like CABG, TAVR, carotid endarterectomy, and more. - Proficient with equipment such as Dopplers, bladder scanners, EKGs, and chest tubes. - Use systems such as Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication, documentation, and communication. - Self-scheduling is available. - Complete unit orientation and pass EKG testing prior to starting. - Wear navy scrubs for shifts. - Open to flexible work assignments and floatation as needed.
