Job SummaryThe Psychiatric Services Manager will work with psychiatric services team to coordinate and advocate for our patients' care. This role will work with team of Doctors, manage all needs of Department while also serving as a resource to review patients' charts, meet with patients, providers, and other team members to establish the most suitable course of action. Medication management and authorization to refill with medical assistant, treatment plan updates, sample and regular drug management and tracking will also be required.Essential Responsibilities and MetricsRegularly consult with psychiatric providers and/or Director of Clinical Operations on specific client related clinical issues including treatment plan updatesAssist case managers with medication refills and prior authorizationsProvide face-to-face mental health annual assessmentsFacilitate client referrals for additional services consistent with assessed needs physician recommendation and/or client desired outcomesProvide brief crisis intervention, stabilization services and supportive counseling to meds only clients.Refer client to Doctors/manager when appropriateUnder direction of psychiatric providers, manager will provide patients medication education print outs that are focused on understanding illness, symptom management and medication compliance as neededAssumes leadership role with regards to support of Volunteer and regular DoctorsDevelop a cohesive and strong team-oriented relationship with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals; evaluate and report on patient health outcomes and work in partnership with interdisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate the best in patient carePerform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) as neededDevelop an improved management and inventory of the maintenance of the Medication ClosetAssist with the management of the Sample Drug inventory to include;? Logs samples in? Manages sample supply? Facilitates communication between Josselyn center doctors and drug reps? Discards expired samplesOther duties as assigned by Director of Clinical OperationsQualificationsPossession of Bachelor's degree in nursing. In lieu of Bachelor's degree, Associates degree in nursing with 5 years supervised clinical experience in mental health or human services would sufficeCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse in Illinois preferredWorking knowledge of mental health community resourcesMinimum three years' experience in behavioral health providing clinical services and medical case coordination, providing services to people with serious mental illness, preferably in a community mental health settingKnowledge and experience in leadership and supervisory roles preferredAbility to work as part of a team of professionals in a public mental health setting requiredValid Illinois driver's license requiredInd4
