There are 9 RNs and 5 MA/LPNs in the department to support all these providers.This RN is responsible for all phone triaging. This RN's responsibilities include taking calls for CHF phone calls, symptom calls, pre-post procedural education.This RN is performing over 90 % of their role of critically thinking and assessments of patients over the phone. This department receives on average 2800 phone calls per month, an average of 3334 inbasket messages each month which includes mychart messages. Any non-clinical phone calls are sent to non-RN staff to complete like prior auths for medications and refills. These nurses are trained in how to wand patients who have cardiomems in the inpatient unit and will have to help cover if the inpatient HF educator is out.
