**Description** ** _Summary:_**Responsible for patient assessment, patient care planning, and provision ofquality nursing care to an assigned group of patients for a defined workperiod. Provides direction and supervision to LVNLPNs, nursing assistants,unit secretaries and other clinicalclerical associates. By assignment, mayfunction as charge nurse for the unit. Involves provision of patientcareservice to older adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric and pediatricpatients.CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Medical Center (CSRH-MC), located in the SouthTexas Medical Center, provides a high-level of care through compassionatehands, experience physicians, and advanced technology, including the da VinciSurgical Robot System and the Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted System. Services atthe 178- bed facility include Acute Care of the Elderly Unit, cardiology,diabetes care, emergency care, general surgery, kidney transplantation at theCHRISTUS Transplant Institute, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation andaquatic therapy, Senior Behavioral Health Center, urology, and the Wound Careand Hyperbaric Center.**_Requirements:_****EducationSkills** * Associates Degree in Nursing**Experience** * One year experience in nursing preferred.**Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications** * Current Texas State RN License or Compact RN License * BLS (American Heart Association) * ACLS required at time of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain ACLS by the end of the clinical orientation period. * PALS required at time of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain PALS by the end of the clinical orientation period. * Crisis intervention training required within 12 months of hiretransfer date * For trauma designated facilities, TNCC required within 6 weeks of hire for experienced RNs.
