18-20/month, 225 per year.
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios?
: yes (3 nurses on during the day and 2 at night).
-Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, Prefer AWHONN
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Level 1 Obstetric and Nursery Care.
Not currently
scrubbing or circulating C-sections, but may happen in the future.
Travelers will triage.
Pre-
eclampsia, GDM (if well controlled).
Try to transfer out high risk if able.
Deliver 36 weeks and
above.
Anything less they would try to transfer out, if it is safe for the patient.
- Experience: Independent with Labor/Postpartum/Newborn Care.
2-3 years of OB experience
required.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?
: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, Magnesium, occasional insulin.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor?
: Charge takes assignments.
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit?
: No
- OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?
: Total of 15 MDs come from 3 clinics.
There is a call list they
go through.
Can be there within 10-15 minutes.
Any imminent deliveries, the ER doctor can be
called to be present.
- Anesthesia in house 24/7: In house during the day.
On call at night.
- RT Equipment: Neopuff- T Piece (preferred experience).
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit?
: No techs, yes RNs must be competent with EFM
documentation.
Client CPN monitor system/Novii.
- EFM System: Client CPN monitor system.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts 0700-1930, 1900-0730.
Block scheduling can be arranged.
Manager sets up schedule.
Would like them to be flexible.
Either days/nights or straight nights.
- Weekend Requirements: 2 weekends per 4 week schedule.
- Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.
- Is there a call or standby requirement?
: 2- 12 hour calls per 4 week schedule.
Call person is the 3rd
person for night shift.
Call is from 1900-0730.
One hour response time.
- Floating Requirements?
: Yes, must be willing to float to all departments on low census days as
RN/CNA helpers.
- Scrub Color/Dress code: Purple scrubs provided.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 days.
