**Description** ** _Summary:_**The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, implements or delegates, plans, andevaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with establishedphilosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. TheRegistered Nurse (RN) relates effectively with other shiftsdepartments foroptimal continuity of care. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinicalsupervision for entry level nurses and assists in their development.The CHRISTUS Children's Hospital, established in 1959, was the firstchildren's hospital in South-Central Texas. Located downtown, this 190-plus-bed hospital serves more than 70,000 children annually from San Antonio, SouthTexas and around the world. The hospital (in partnership with Baylor Collegeof Medicine) is the only academic children's hospital in San Antonio. Ourhighly specialized services meet the unique medical needs of children, fromPediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care to Children's Emergency Services, thelatest treatments for deformities of the spine including titanium rib implantsand halo traction, a Heart Center, a specialized asthma program, a highlyregarded Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, and growing maternal services toinclude consultation, delivery, and maternal fetal medicine.**_Requirements:_** * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with active RN Texas licensure. * All newly licensed RNs with less than 6 months experience must participate in the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Residency Program. An individualized learning plan will be developed through completion of the Performance Gap Analysis and competency completion will be documented through the programs tracking software. * Registered Nurse with valid Texas License. * BLS Certification required; ACLS certification highly desiredrecommended. Current specialty certification as required. * Must have working knowledge of the nursing process as well as in depth knowledge of therapeutic, physical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and developmental needs for a select category of patients. * Good communication skills, both written and verbal.**_Work Type:_**Full Time
