Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation. CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Alice was built in 1999 to serve the healthcare needs of people in Alice and the surrounding communities. The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and is licensed for 186 beds and offers comprehensive medical and surgical services including pediatrics, obstetrics, skilled nursing, emergency and intensive care, as well as cardiac and comprehensive services. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources. PALS within 90 days of hire for new graduates; within 30 days of hire for experienced nurses. TNCC within 18 months for new hires and experienced nurses new to the specialty; within 60 days for experiences nurses in the specialty. TCAR within 18 months for new hires and experienced nurses new to the specialty; within 60 days for experiences nurse in the specialty. CPI/De-Escalation within 12 months of hire.
