*LOCATION DESCRIPTION:*Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay.*POSITION SUMMARY:*Reporting to the Director, the Charge Nurse utilizes the nursing process and organizational/leadership skills to coordinate services of staff to patients during the designated shift. Assures patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served. Assesses staff need for the unit, collaborates with the Staffing Coordinator, Nurse Director, and House Supervisor to ensure patients' needs are met. Inspires enthusiasm and confidence by motivating and directing others toward a given objective. Develops a cohesive team ensuring maximum use of skills within the group. Consistently supports departmental and hospital goals as demonstrated by their actions. Defines responsibilities and authority limits based on the abilities of staff members, organizational needs and priorities. Demonstrates the ability to manage the unit in the absence of the Director/Assistant Director or designee.*JOB REQUIREMENTS:*Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced, fluid environment of changing priorities. Requires advanced skills in word processing with the ability to establish and organize tables and excel documents.
