TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Bangor, Maine, 04401 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Job Specialty: Surgical Job Duration: 26 weeks (preferred but not required) Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM, 12-hour night shifts Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele experience required License: Registered Nurse license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), basic EKG certification (ability to read/interpret cardiac rhythm strips) Must-Have: - General post-surgical experience - Telemetry experience (ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips) - Experience with vascular and orthopedic post-op care Job Description: - Work in a Level 2 Trauma Center with 411 beds, focusing on telemetry monitoring - Provide care for patients with various surgical needs including bariatrics, vascular surgeries, urology, general/GI, ortho, ENT, plastics, and neurosurgery - Manage medical overflow such as CHF, pneumonia, COVID, sepsis, cellulitis, GI bleed, etc. - Follow patient ratios: RN Night 1:5-6 - Engage in patient care activities such as peripheral IV starts, tube feedings, TPN, trach care, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, and wound management - Responsible for removing non-tunneled catheters and managing Heparin and Insulin drips - Collaborate with CNAs who maintain a ratio of 1:10 during night shifts - Participate in a supportive unit structure with a charge nurse and resource nurse during day shifts - Utilize technology including Cerner EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems - Floating to care for patients within or below the scope of practice may be required - Complete a 2-day hospital orientation along with a 12-hour shift on the unit - Adhere to a schedule cycle of 4 weeks, with flexibility for weekend rotation and holiday expectations Note: Professional appearance required; no artificial nails or cell phone use in patient care areas. 26099606EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing Adapting to new environments, team dynamics, and patient populations fosters adaptability.
