The Certified Wound Care Nurse strives to improve patient outcomes via prevention, staff knowledge, and care of patients with ostomies, wounds and/or continence issues. Functions as an expert resource in preventing pressure ulcers and providing wound, ostomy, skin and continence care. Acts as a consultant to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and reassess the care of patients with pressure ulcers, wounds, stomas, or other dermal disruptions. Collaborates with physicians, surgeons, and other care providers to provide evidence based care. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. Education: Bachelor's Degree: Nursing- RN (Required), Master's Degree: Nursing- RN Work Experience: General nursing or clinical practice Certifications: BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association, Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse - Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board, Registered Nurse Arkansas - Arkansas State Board of Nursing, Registered Nurse Mississippi - Mississippi Board of Nursing, Registered Nurse Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Nursing Boasting one of the South's largest medical centers, Memphis blends a friendly community, a thriving and growing downtown, and a low cost of living.
