Tutor Intelligence is an MIT robotics startup deploying AI-powered robots to factories across the United States. In this role, you will assist us in building and maintaining lots and lots of robots!
Your job is to manufacture our robot systems - electrical, mechanical, software. You will build computers from scratch, operate a 3D print farm, program computers, perform QA and testing, & wrench all day long.
You will also generate documentation for robot construction, teach others how to build things and manage the production schedule, manage inventory/stock.
There is no requirement for specific robotics experience in order to do well here, but the following is likely a good set of characteristics to have:
* Experience "wrenching" - maybe you were a mechanic, technician, or spent a lot of time repairing you bicycle. You should know about torque specs, loctite, and have good mechanical feel.
* Experience with rapid fabrication: 3D printing, soldering, wiring. Big bonus if you've managed multiple 3d printers, assembled them and tuned them.
* Experience managing: Have you taught others how to build things before? Can you delegate work to others, and make sure things happen on schedule?
* Organization: Can you generate documentation so that things don't just live inside your own head? Can you keep track of inventory so that parts on not missing at critical moments?
* Ownership: We are a small startup, ownership over your own work is critical.
* Responsibility: Our robots are in your hands. We need them cared for. You will implement lots of checks to ensure that when a robot leaves the house, it is ready for a long and productive career.
* Can lift up to 50lbs.

\nWe don't expect you to have more than the fundamentals to start out with. Frankly, our parts tend to change pretty quickly. What is important is that you can learn and adapt, take work off of other peoples plates, and help us grow our fleet of robots!
