This is a summer 2025 paid 12-week internship opportunity. Please note that this internship will be a hybrid in-office role.
The Internship This internship will be embedded within our Opportunity Discovery and Technology Adoption (ODTA) department.
The Team The ODTA team is dedicated to achieving real-world impact for the groundbreaking research produced within our robotics division. We work closely with our experts in mobile manipulation, robotics user experience designers, and our prototyping & research operations team at TRI. As a member of the team, you will be working on software needed for our robotics research to succeed in the field.
\n ResponsibilitiesDevelop software features that run on a robot (or a host) to advance capabilities while running in manufacturing environments.Build tooling and interfaces to operationalize robotics deployments and facilitate scaling.Partner with a multidisciplinary team including other engineers and research scientists across ODTA, Robotics, TRI, and Toyota.Stay up to date on the state-of-the-art in robotics systems. QualificationsPursuing a BS or MS degree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or C++.Desire to work on deploying innovative robotic systems in real-world environments.Shown initiative outside of studies (e.g., demonstrable projects, volunteering, etc).A team player with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from others.Passionate about seeing robotics have a real-world, large-scale impact.
\nThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $45 and $65/hour for California-based roles; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
