Safety Manager 1

Purpose and Scope: Responsible for the management and administration of safety field operations and programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment to include modification of safety-related activities and plans to specific contracts in compliance with federal, state, local, and base regulatory requirements.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Responsibilities: Reports to the site Project Manager

Knowledge of electrical safety related to medium voltage (15KV) power distribution system is required.

Knowledge of safe Lithium-based or similar battery storage and associated fire protection is required.

Develops and maintains applicable safety and health procedures and practices in compliance with corporate, state, federal, local, and base regulations and contract requirements.

Promotes the implementation of occupational safety programs, procedures and activities.

Promotes the current OSHA compliant culture throughout the site.

Facilitates safety process development, implementation, and compliance of all subcontracts.

Manages safety audit program for field and construction locations to ensure compliance with various contractual, regulatory and company requirements.

Participates and supports integration at the site level to address site-related safety, quality, health and welfare to include environmental concerns.

Provides guidance to managers and supervisors to assist in the interpretation and compliance of safety and health-related contract requirements.

Coordinates field investigations for injury, property damage and vehicle incidents to ensure thorough investigations and appropriate root cause identification.

Conducts special evaluations and internal safety and health field surveys/audits.
Compile reports and findings of surveys and audits for review and makes corrective action recommendations and tracks to closure as required.

Manages field and construction safety operations

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field and 10 years of related experience with managerial/supervisory experience.

Certified Safety Professional preferred, including but not limited to Safety Trained Supervisor – Construction or equivalent.

Familiar with various operational/field concepts, practices, and procedures.

Experienced incident investigator using various techniques to determine root cause.

Experience in field safety implementation and compliance inspections as well as construction safety oversight.

Good written and oral communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work required.

Position requires familiarity with and ability to stay current with industry standards.

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance
