Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally sensitive Campus Safety Manager for a full-time, onsite position to oversee the safety & security operations across multiple buildings on our vibrant campus, which encompasses MCA1.0, MCA 3.0, and Masjid Al-Noor. This diverse campus serves over 5 schools and a variety of programs, attracting more than 5,000 people weekly. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and cost-conscious leader capable of balancing the demands of securing a dynamic environment with budget management, while effectively leading both paid staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities: – Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security plans and emergency plans for multiple buildings across the campus, including MCA1.0, MCA 3.0, and Masjid Al-Noor.
– Monitor and assess safety and security risks, creating solutions to mitigate potential threats while ensuring the safety of all visitors, customers, staff, and students.
– Serve as the primary Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) contact with responsibility to coordinate all EH&S activities with Human Resources. Ensure that all MCA facilities are compliant with applicable safety standards by the local authorities.
– Lead and manage a diverse team of security personnel, including both staff and volunteers, ensuring proper training and development to uphold security and safety protocols.
– Envision and execute cost-effective security strategies, leveraging technology, volunteers, and other resources to maintain a high level of safety within budget constraints.
– Collaborate with the board of directors, school leadership, program directors, and other stakeholders to align security operations with campus needs and goals.
– Maintain security equipment, including cameras, alarms, and access control systems, ensuring efficient use of resources.
– Conduct regular security audits, drills, and training sessions for staff and volunteers to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
– Develop strong relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure quick response to incidents.
– Uphold cultural sensitivity and foster an inclusive and respectful environment for all students, staff, volunteers, customers, and visitors from diverse backgrounds.
– Oversee the implementation and maintenance of emergency response protocols, including medical emergencies.
– Maintain a consistent onsite presence to effectively manage day-to-day security operations and respond to immediate concerns.
– Present risk assessments and improved security policies to the MCA Executive Board.
Qualifications: – Proven experience (5+ years) in campus or facility security management, with a track record of overseeing large, multi-building environments.
– Strong leadership and people management skills, particularly in overseeing both staff and volunteer teams.
– Demonstrated ability to develop and implement cost-effective security strategies.
– Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
– Proven track record of being culturally sensitive and fostering a safe, inclusive environment in diverse settings.
– Proficiency with modern security technologies, including access control systems, video surveillance, and emergency response tools.
– Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
– Current CPR, First-Aid, and AED certification is required.
– Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
– Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (Eid & Ramadan) as needed.
– Must pass a security background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications: – Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
– Experience managing security for educational institutions or other multi-purpose facilities.
– Certification in security management or related fields (e.g., Certified Protection Professional – CPP).
– Additional certifications such as Disaster Response or Emergency Management.
– Multilingual skills, particularly in languages common in the community.
Pay Range: $93K – $114K depending on experience
