We are looking for an experienced Sales Director who will be responsible for driving sponsored content and ad sales to publishers and book marketers.

Fable is a community-powered platform for discovering, reading, watching, and discussing books and TV shows for deeper connections, creative expression, and mental wellness. Our goal is to become the AI app for consumer entertainment, connecting people with each other through the stories they love.
ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage the sales pipeline as Fable's first dedicated Sponsored Content and Ad Sales leader.Establish and execute a sales and go-to-market plan to acquire customers.Generate leads and sales opportunities by identifying high-potential partners, executing outbound outreach, and developing ongoing customer relationships across the publishing industry.Partner with cross-functional teams to update sales collateral and develop campaign proposals for customers.Understand customer needs and ensure successful execution and high ROI for publishers to drive repeat business.Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape and determine ad product rates.Identify and drive opportunities for new sponsored content and ad products to scale the business line.Develop quarterly forecasts and execution plans for revenue growth.Set strategic vision for our ads business beyond the publisher category.Experience owning and driving the top line of the company.Experience leading sales for sponsored content and/or ads (especially in the book space), and a track record of driving revenue growth 0-1 and beyond.Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills to articulate value propositions and generate customer interest leading to a sale.Experience in defining sales metrics, and driving decisions based on data and/or qualitative feedback.Hands-on experience building a sponsored content or ad sales business at an early stage company.You're self-motivated, and take ownership and responsibility.You love working with smart, fun, sincere and dedicated peers.You want to be the one to make it happen.You are resilient and can cope with ambiguity.Comfortable in a fast-paced and at times unpredictable start-up environment.Big plus if you have a love for stories!At Fable, you'll join a passionate, high-performing and empathetic team of people who love stories.
