Sales Engineer - comm'l heat treat (aerospace) Must be a true "hunter" who wants to get after and earn NEW business in aerospace and government contracts for a growing commercial heat treat facility.
Responsibilities: Identify prospective customers and distributors by using various sales and marketing channels.Focus on building and developing new business and relationships while also maintaining current customer base.Generate sales that meet the growth expectations set forth by company leadership.Build relationships with C-suite, plant, engineering, metallurgical, and purchasing personnel at key accounts to grow business while perpetuating confidence and trust in the company.Thoroughly prepare for all customer meetings and ask engaging questions that draw out both needs and buying motives.Serve as a liaison between our customer and company to ensure customer needs are being met.Meet with qualified prospects and customers while providing a consultative selling approach.Monitor the customer base and market for changing conditions. Make recommendations to management regarding sales trends and investment opportunities.Complete periodic assessments of competition to include processes, prices, and sales.Negotiate pricing with customers.Create and execute distributor agreements.Maintain a high level of industry knowledge and remain up to date on industry trends and issues.Actively participate in tradeshows as well as industry network events and conferences.Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales forecasts and reports, documenting annual goals and reporting against them, monitoring/tracking performance to sales forecasts, and documenting all activities in CRM.Candidate Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or similar discipline.At least 5 years of technical sales experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Experience in the aerospace, agriculture, construction, defense, hydraulic cylinder, or shock absorber industries is a plus.Understanding of government contracting, ITAR, and Nadcap is a plus.Proven results in creating new business opportunities and achieving aggressive sales growth.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Salesforce experience is a plus.Experience utilizing social media as a sales and marketing tool.Knowledge of international business and shipping logistics is a plus.Valid driver's license and good driving record.Flexibility to travel for extended periods of time overnight and visit customer locations.Must have the ability to travel outside the U.S.
