TITLE: Sales & Service Technician (Central Office)LOCATION: Belmond, IA or Oakland, IAUNION: CWA 7171 / 307JOB POSTING DATE: 3/14/24 to 3/22/24WAGE RANGE:$ 17.00 to $35.97 per hourSummary:Installs, maintains and/or repairs various types of central office equipment and associated apparatus; may also install or repair facilities outside the central office/pair gain units up to and including the customer provided equipment and frames; performs other related duties.General Duties:Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Installs, maintains and repairs a variety of communications equipment, networks and systems such as digital and analog carrier and switching systems, microwave and associated equipment, trunking equipment, fiber optics systems, remote and pair gain units, voice and data equipment and services, and other related central office apparatus and cross connect frames.While performing the voice and data functions may be required to install or identify and repair facilities outside the central office/pair gain units up to and including the Customer Provided Equipment (CPE) and frames.Recognizes and pursues potential revenue producing opportunities.DRIVING: ModerateTRAVEL RELATED: Moderate - Normally Within HeadquartersTOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:Various voltage and Current Measurement devicesVarious Carrier and Fiber Multiplexer Transmission Test EquipmentLaptop ComputerSmall Hand ToolsProtocol analyzersMay be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company.Basic Qualifications:Training in AC/DC, Basic Electronics and Digital Logic. An electronics technical degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Previous experience in a digital SPC office is desired.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This job requires climbing of ladders up to 15 feet; lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds infrequently; pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, crawling; good color vision; and manual dexterity.
