SUMMARY: A Sales Support Specialist is responsible for building and strengthening all customer relationships associated with Inside Sales, Regional Sales, and the Strategic Sales teams directly, through follow up, connecting, and providing resources. This position will serve as primary contact for customers as it relates to order management (order processing, scheduling, and shipping) and be a liaison between customers and Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Production, and Finance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the main point of contact for Global Sales personnel, customers, and Channel Partners associated with an assigned territory to include the following: Order management Sample requests and follow-up Pricing inquiries and maintenance Lead time inquiries Scheduling Other miscellaneous requests Collaborate with Customers, Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, and Shipping to complete the following: Manage scheduling and shipping requirements of customers Communicate logistical needs of customers Identify and communicate concerns that may prevent on-time shipping Assist customers with special requests they may have related to their shipment Aid, research, and gather information requested by other departments Partner with Finance to manage the following: Proforma invoices required by customers New customer onboarding Reviewing registration claims and special pricing associated with assigned territory SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with monthly gathering, scrubbing, and uploading of distribution Point of Sale reports as needed Manage the logistics of repair and return requests as the policy dictates Manage all records and documents related to primary customers Review and update customer contact information annually Assist other Sales Support Specialist as requested File electronic purchase orders and other department-related documents Adhere to quality system standards pertaining to job Other duties and special projects as assigned QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent multi-tasking and prioritizing ability Comfortable utilizing multiple different systems to accomplish job tasks High level of customer focus Strong attention to detail Motivated with ability to work independently Flexible; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple, varying deliverables and tasks Team player – collaborates well with others to accomplish a goal and support our customers and sales team EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or post-secondary certificate program desired. 5+ years customer service/sales support and administration experience within an office environment. Experience working in sales support/customer service for a manufacturing company a big plus. Experience working with an ERP required; specific experience with Power Shift and/or Epicor a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel skills required PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting requirements up to 10 pounds. Requires sitting for periods of time and occasional standing. Use hands to finger, handle or feel. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise. Our Minnesota facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
