SSI seeks a Satellite Mission Operations Engineer to oversee and execute operational activities for a first-of-kind system, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with mission objectives. The role involves collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and requires experience in satellite vehicle operations, including commanding, state-of-health monitoring, and ground systems integration and management. The successful operation of this system directly contributes to future acquisition decisions and mission CONOP development. Specific Duties Include: ·        Flexibility and willingness to support satellite operations shifts, including overnight ·        Oversees Contractor operations and provides independent assessments to the Customer ·        Supports translation of Design Reference Missions (DRMs) into detailed mission plans, including orbit planning, payload operation, and data management ·        Analyzes mission data to optimize satellite functionality and extend operational lifespan ·        Maintains a solid understanding of the mission CONOPS, which includes the use of custom tools needed for system tasking and collection statistics ·        Supports anomaly resolution, performs root-cause analysis, and generates detailed reports to improve system reliability ·        Participates in rehearsal exercises to ensure mission readiness ·        Prepares and presents technical reports to Customer Leadership teams ·        Ability to provide on-call support
\n Required Qualifications:Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and CI polygraph (polygraph within the last ten (10) years)Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and six (6) or more years of experience; Master's degree and four (4) or more years of experienceUnderstanding of operations with prior experience in satellite operations, preferably at a Government Mission Ground StationExcellent interpersonal, leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a Government/Contractor team environmentWillingness to travel 10-25%
