Job Overview Summary
The File Clerk is responsible for general administrative duties including organizing and filing documents and other organizational tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions Compiles and sorts, or classifies, information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical orderScan or read incoming materials in order to determine how and where they should be classified or filedTrack materials removed from files in order to ensure that borrowed files are returnedGather materials to be filed from departments and employeesMaintain data and records by making copies and filing documents in storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification informationMaintain accurate records by entering data into the applicable computer programs and processing backupsAdd new material to file records and create new records as necessaryPerform general office duties such as data entry, operating office machines, and sorting mailDetermine management and quality requirements by asking questions and listeningMaintain a follow-up system that encourages follow through with assigned projectsEstablish personal performance goals that are consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goalsUnderstand and follow work rules and proceduresFollow lawful directions from supervisorsUphold the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreementsAttend company meetings as requiredWork evening, weekend, and holiday hours as requiredMaintains a professional appearance and a neat work area in accordance with company policyOther duties as assigned Other Duties
