About the Job: School Based SLPA, Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our dynamic team, providing essential support in a school environment. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision and direction of ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists to implement therapeutic programs and track patient progress. This position offers flexible work hours ranging from part-time to full-time, allowing you to make a significant impact while accommodating your schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct speech and language screenings as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. Assist in implementing treatment plans for patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Track patient progress and report findings to the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. Support patients in developing communication and feeding skills through tailored therapy sessions. Prepare and organize therapy materials and equipment for sessions. Maintain and clean therapy equipment and materials, ensuring all tools are ready for use. Participate in team meetings and professional development training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge. Accurately document patient progress and therapy sessions to adhere to clinical and legal standards. Facilitate effective communication with patients and their families about treatment plans, progress, and goals, ensuring they are fully informed and engaged. Minimum Position Qualifications: Active speech therapy license. Minimum of 1 year professional experience in speech therapy. Proven ability to follow guidelines and instructions as provided by certified speech-language pathologists. Demonstrated understanding of speech-language disorder treatment plans and techniques. Strong organizational skills for handling therapy materials and managing documentation. Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, and family members. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a school setting with children or adolescents preferred. Advanced training or certifications in speech-language pathology or related fields. Experience with digital documentation and patient management systems. Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to relate to children, parents, and educational staff. Organizational and time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks. Technical skills for operating therapy equipment and computer-based management systems. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to adapt treatments as needed. Empathy and compassion for working with patients with communication difficulties.
