Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required. Job Title : School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Required Qualifications: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program Illinois State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathologist (Non-Teaching) Endorsement from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (preferred but not required for new graduates who are completing their Clinical Fellowship Year) Clinical Fellowship (CF) Candidates will be considered and provided with supervision Job Summary: In this role, youll play a vital part in helping students overcome communication and language challenges so they can thrive academically and socially. Were seeking someone whos not only skilled in their field but also enjoys working closely with teachers, parents, and other team members. Experience with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and providing therapy for children of all ages is a big plus! Responsibilities: Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs Provide direct therapy to students, individually and in small groups, to address speech and language goals Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support each students educational progress Document and monitor student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on speech and language goals and progress Educate school staff and families on strategies to reinforce speech and language development Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of speech-language pathology practices within a school setting Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff Knowledge of IEP processes and documentation requirements Strong organizational skills for maintaining detailed records and reports Positive, student-centered approach with a commitment to improving student outcomes
