GOAL
Contribute to the successful achievement of the Dodge County School District mission and major system priorities by supporting the effective organization and operations of the school environment to optimize student learning, instructional programs and related activities.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Assumes responsibility for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, and referral activities for students at DCHS.
Provides for the promotion and maintenance of health as well as the prevention of illness and injuries.
This facilitates the removal of health-related barriers to learning and promoting an optimal level of wellness for students and staff.
Responsible for direct and indirect care given to students in compliance with school district policies, professional standards of practice, physician's orders, and the Individual Health Plan.
Functions in accordance with the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the school district's policies and procedures.
Collaborates with other child-support agencies in designing and providing a school health program.
Maintains security of school health supplies.
Serves as a resource person on health issues.
Screens and conducts health appraisals for students and staff.
Provides follow-up evaluations on students as required.
Recommends corrective action where problems are identified.
Conducts home visits when appropriate.
Corresponds with parents on health needs of children and utilizes our Tele Med Program successfully.
Records immunizations, health findings, and other relevant health data.
Performs other duties as assigned by Principal.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine motor and gross motor skills, bending, lifting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching; ability to lift and transfer students as required; the stamina to stand all day as needed.
