Position Summary The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day school operations. Responsible for overseeing various administrative functions, this position collaborates with school leadership to create a conducive learning environment for students and a supportive work environment for staff. This role requires a combination of relationship building, facilities management knowledge, data management, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders. Direct Reports This position supervises the School Secretary, Data Manager, and Maintenance Staff.
\n AdministrativeMaintains a friendly, welcoming, helpful atmosphere for all who visit or contact the school;Serves as the primary point of contact between the school operational functions and OPSB;Maintain master calendar of school events;Works with school leadership to maintain communication with school population, ensuring parents and guardians are notified of important campus events and deadlines;Works with leadership and Communications team in creating and implementing an effective school recruitment strategy;Reports school site personnel questions and concerns to Human Resources Department;Understands and ensures school is aligned with all federal, state, and local legal and compliance requirements and regulations, with support from Central Office; FacilitiesOversees the maintenance and cleanliness of the school facilities;Coordinates repairs, renovations, and upgrades to school equipment and facilities and to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment;Coordinates facility use by non-school board entities with the district Facilities Department;Manages relationships with vendors and service providers;Manages school fixed assets and provides inventory results as required; OperationsCoordinates logistical arrangements for school events, field trips, and extra-curricular activities;Implements arrival and dismissal procedures that ensure students enter and leave campus in a safe, orderly fashion;Supports leadership in the coordination of student testing periods;Supports Data Manager in the maintaining of school records, databases, and documentation;Works with Cafeteria Manager to implement dining schedules that facilitate effective and efficient food service;Communicate with parents regarding food service concerns;Track and monitor technology needs of school-based staff and report issues, challenges, and opportunities to onsite IT Technician;Support planning and implementation of safety, fire, and emergency plans as needed;Oversee student incident claims and ensure claims are properly handled in a timely manner; Financial ManagementServes as school point-of-contact for school financial activity including invoices, purchase card charges, etc.;Works with finance to procure supplies and services within budgetary constraints;Maintains accurate records of budgets and inventories for supplies, equipment, and fixed assets at the school site;Works with finance to manage student activity fund accounts; Performs other duties as required
TransportationImplement arrival and dismissal procedures that ensure our students enter and leave campus in a safe, orderly fashion;Collaborate with transportation vendor(s) to ensure bus routes properly serve students and families;Establish and maintain regular and effective communication with transportation vendor(s) to properly serve and communicate necessary information to students and families;Partner with transportation vendor(s) to safeguard student transport on regularly maintenance and compliant school bus fleet, such as collecting bi-annual City inspection sheets, routinely inspecting valid inspection stickers, confirming functioning air conditioned and heated buses. etc;Performs other related duties as required. Educational Background Associate's degree requiredBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities? At least five years of proven experience in operations, facilities, and management in an educational setting required;Familiarity with finance processes and supply chain management;Strong organizational and multitasking skills;Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;Ability to build relationships with vendors and service providersProficient in relevant software applications (e.g., accounting software, Microsoft Office);Understanding of educational policies and regulations is a plus.

Performance Evaluation The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.
