Job Summary:
The Experimental Biomarker Research and Early Development team (discovery sciences) at Client in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a talented and motivated Scientist to support the development of assays and reagents for digital PCR. The qualified candidate will join a cross-functional team of scientists working on new biomarker detection and feasibility.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct and monitor laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures under general supervision, leveraging technical and theoretical understanding.
Make recommendations to resolve issues encountered during experimental procedures.
Ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental results.
Summarize experimental results and review conclusions with supervisor/project leader.
Communicate experimental results through reports and presentations, keeping the supervisor/project leader informed of project status, particularly significant findings and results in critical problem areas.
Perform work according to established internal safety guidelines and procedures, and as specified by appropriate external regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA).
Analyze experimental data using various data analysis software and/or quantitative methods.
Form conclusions and document process improvements, using technical writing skills to produce reports and documents. May present findings at internal meetings.
Maintain accountability for own electronic notebook documentation, ensuring experimental methods and results are recorded timely, accurately, and consistently, according to established formats.
Participate in routine lab maintenance, lab safety, ISO, and QSR implementation.
Troubleshoot issues related to instrumentation.
Stay informed of trends and developments in the area of scientific responsibility.
Apply broad concepts of a particular field or specialization to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of relevant industry experience required. 4 years of experience preferred.
