Job Title: Scientist, Software Engineering (Sr. DevSecOps Lead, Software Engineer) Job Code: 15294 Job Location: Chantilly, VA Job Description: L3Harris Technologies is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented Senior DevOps Software Engineer to lead a dynamic team in supporting exciting and meaningful Space Domain Mission applications. The selected candidate will be on a Senior Technical Lead role of a program working with classified large-scale enterprise applications using web technologies, distributed computation and storage frameworks, and sophisticated, cutting-edge domain analytics, with the system hosted on virtualized and cloud-computing platforms. The selected candidate will be leading the DevSecOps team and processes. The DevSecOps lead will collaborate with software development leads to ensure software applications are securely developed, tested, deployed and released. Additionally, regular interaction and reporting to leadership and customers will be required. Essential Functions: Leads and architects the right implementation of DevSecOps methodologies into a modernized Agile software development environment. Provides leadership and collaborating with other engineers to plan, design and develop the DevSecOps environment that includes cohesive CI/CD pipelines Designs and architect software systems with consideration of scalability, cost, and reliability Analyzes continuously the DevSecOps environment for technical and process improvements (e.g., integration of security measures, faster security and software updates, improved automation, reduced glitches, and software failures, etc.) Provides deep understanding of DevSecOps and modern software development practices for DoD and IC Supports the entire Software Development Lifecycle with an emphasis on build and release management via automation Focuses on leadership, architecting, and systems design Promotes DevOps as a team culture and new technologies Organizational and leadership abilities with strong communication and presentation skills Qualifications: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph security clearance B.S. degree Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and minimum of 12 years of prior related experience; or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Experience (8+ years) with working as a Hands-On DevOps working on complex Realtime, Distributed, High Volume, Event Processing systems Experience designing and architecting software systems with consideration of scalability, cost, and reliability Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or GovCloud Experience with continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks Experience using the Agile/Scrum methodology and tools Preferred Additional Skills: Experience with Space Systems highly desired Experience leading DevOps teams in complex high volume data processing systems Experience with virtualization software such as Docker; orchestration service such as Docker Swarm or Kubernetes Experience with standard automated deployment type tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.) Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef Experience with elastic or containerized solutions Experience as an application software developer In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is VA area is $155,500 - $288,500.
