SA Recycling is looking for a highly motivated, sales minded individual with an aggressive marketing approach that will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In this role you will collaborate closely with the Regional and General Manager in the development and maintenance of new and existing accounts by growing our ferrous and non-ferrous volumes seeking the most profitable scrap within the Augusta Georgia Area. This position requires a dynamic individual with initiative, who can collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records. track market developments, create strategies, set up sales plans, and maintain customer relations.
Primary Responsibilities of a Buyer Procure and price ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials within guidelines for new and existing accounts, as determined by the Regional and/or General Manager.Develop Aggressive strategic plans for new business to generate new sources of ferrous and/or non-ferrous material.Visit and maintain current and potential customers such as demolition contractors, dealers, auto wreckers, construction projects, industrial accounts to generate and investigate new sources of ferrous and/or non-ferrous material.Monitor commodity market trends in conjunction with the operation's material flow to make informed purchase decisions to maximize profitability.Purchase scrap so that volume and profitability targets are met or exceeded.Ensure that purchased ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials conform to specifications.Investigate and resolve supplier complaints, ensuring complaints are recorded, and follow-up actions are verified, in accordance with the SA Recycling's guidelines.Complete and submit monthly reports in a timely and accurate manner and participate in meetings to discuss and review results as required.Qualifications of a Buyer: Bachelor's Degree in business, sales or marketing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferredKnowledge and understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal industry as well as processing & logistics techniques.Aggressive marketing approach, a tactic of communicating directly with potential customers and actively pursuing their engagement with new businessPrior experience in ferrous and non-ferrous buying preferred but not required.Excellent verbal and written communication.Creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to resolve issues and provide solutions.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.SA Recycling offers professional growth opportunities, a competitive compensation structure and a benefits package that includes full health care coverage including dental, vision, and disability plans; a 401k with a company match; paid vacations and holidays; and continuing education and developmental programs.
