Positions range from permanent clinical float roles (Full time or Part Time) to Seasonal 13-week assignments with significantly higher base pay. The Advanced Imaging Technologist participates in technical duties directly involved with all modalities in which they are registered including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of the units. The Advanced Imaging Technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Under the direction of the department manager/Director, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Follows all ACR guidelines and maintains proper radiation dosing to all patients. Is required to perform on-call duties at the discretion of the Radiology Director. Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities: Maintains equipment by daily Q.A.Sets up and adjusts equipment per protocol, radiologist and/or procedure performance.Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for the exam requested.Assists in the administration and administers various chemical substances in order to render specific organs or systems opaquer.Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training of department personnel, including students.Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit.Qualifications: Education: Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technologist
Experience: Three years experience as a CT Technologist preferred. A working knowledge of the CT equipment is necessary. Additional on-the-job training will be conducted.
Licenses/Certifications: ARRT(R); BLS certification, ARRT (CT) preferred
